Toddlers

I love toddlers!! Well I should be clear and say I love my toddler. Carson Jack is the coolest 2 year old I know. Yes, I know I am partial because he is mine but he is like a little man inside that tiny body. He has his own style and opinions about everything! He is realizing that he is his own person and can make some decisions himself.
Speaking of style my little man has a thing for shoes. He LOVES shoes, all kinds of shoes! He wears my shoes, Kevin's shoes, Chip's shoes and Cayden's shoes. You never know what pair he will come out of the closet wearing. He also loves to buy shoes for himself. When we walk into the shoe store he goes and picks out exactly what he wants. He knows without a doubt which shoes he is leaving with.
I love his confidence and joy in finding just the right pair for himself. His face lights up and he can't wait to get those new shoes on! Once he has his new shoes he will walk proudly out of the store asking you at least 5 times if you "like new shoes?"
I love how something so simple as picking out his own shoes gives him a sense of pride and independence. I LOVE my toddler.

Oh, and in case you were wondering which new shoes he picked for himself this weekend, well here you go......

Today Kevin and I sat down (sort of by accident) and watched a few home movies. One of Cayden and Chip 4 days before Carson was born. The other one was of when Carson was born. This was October 2007. I was surprised at how it affected me. First I didn't realize how little they were just 2 years ago. When I saw their little faces and heard their tiny voices talking I was shocked at how young they looked. They were just babies, yet at the time I thought they were big. Then to see them so excited to have a new brother, holding and kissing him at the hospital. It made me melt. Actually it made me cry. Tears poured down my face. I wanted to be right back there holding my new baby and loving my other two babies. How quickly 2 years just flew by. And I can never have it back again. I do however have today. I'm sure years down the road I will look at movies of them now and think how little they look. So today I'm going to enjoy these moments. The hugs and kisses, the laughter and even the tough days, because I know all too soon they will grow up and I won't get this time back.

Happy New Year Friends!

We are having a great 2010 so far. It's been nice to spend time with family and friends. I am soooo ready for the boys to be back in school. Truth be told I think they are getting a little bored at home too. Things are crazy with 3 boys home all day. I did enjoy the time we had as a family. The snow at Christmas was beautiful and the kids loved playing in it. I look forward to a great year!!!
