Christmas 2010

I LOVE Christmas! The best part of Christmas for me is watching my boys filled with joy and excitement. Watching my children enjoy the holiday is like being a kid again.
We had such a wonderful time with family and friends this year. On Christmas Eve, we went to church and it was a beautiful service. Carson spent most of the time staring at the worship team with his little mouth open. He LOVED the music. It is so important for us to remember the real meaning of Christmas.
Christmas morning came early but was great! I am blessed beyond what I deserve and try to enjoy every moment.

This year we had a Tiger and a Ninja! The boys had fun trick or treating and we enjoyed spending time with family. Now it's time for Thanksgiving! Woohoo!

When I met my best friend back when we were just 14, I never in a million years would have thought that her and I would end up having all boys! She was blessed with 4 sons, and I was blessed with 3.
7 boys between us!!!
Two girly girls with 7 boys! We are blessed beyond what we deserve.
Here are some pictures from a recent visit we had............

"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path."

2 days

We only have 2 days left before school starts. 2 days of sleeping late, wearing PJ's all day, and just being lazy. I like the freedom of summer. So we are soaking up the last moments of fun before the kids head back to school.

7

How is my baby 7? I know every mother says that. Where did the time go......my babies are getting so big.....it goes by so quickly.....I have heard it a million times from mothers of all ages, with children of all ages. It is true. It does go fast. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating his first birthday. He had a little cowboy hat and a smasher cake shaped like a sheriff badge. Sigh.....tear.........sniff.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE watching them grow and change and become amazing people, but oh how I miss the chubby arms and baby smell.

Chip had a great 7th birthday. He was surrounded by family and friends. He got everything he wanted and is happily playing with all of it. Happy Birthday to my 1st baby! Please don't grow up too fast, it's too hard on mommy!

Well, we moved. We moved to a little house that is old and dirty, but with great bones. We moved to a house with a BIG yard, playground and swimming pool for the kids. The house needs a lot of work, if we ever get through the piles of boxes and stuff that we have sitting everywhere. I love this house. One day it will be perfect.
Did I mention that tomorrow morning we are all boarding a plane for Kentucky. We planned a 4 day trip, not knowing it would be in the middle of moving. Whew! We are exhausted to say the least. With all we have going sometimes we have to stop and remember what truly matters. It's not the house or stuff but the life that matters.........

What Will Matter
By Michael Josephson

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no days, no hours, or minutes.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass on to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevant.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will all expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won’t matter where you come from, or on what side of the tracks you lived.
It won’t matter whether you are beautiful or brilliant.
Your gender, skin color, ethnicity will be irrelevant.
So, what will matter?
How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built. Not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage and sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people knew you, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories of those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident. It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.
